Michael L. Wehmeyer

Michael L. Wehmeyer, PhD, is Ross and Mariana Beach Distinguished Professor of Special Education and Senior Scientist and Director, Beach Center on Disability at the University of Kansas. He has published more than 30 books and 300 scholarly articles and book chapters on topics related to special education, understanding intellectual disability, eugenics, and self-determination. He is a Fellow and past-president of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Division on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
