Hardcover |English |0847841022 | 9780847841028
Overview
"One of the Best Design Books of Fall 2013" -Elle Decor"He manages to create enveloping interiors that are both easy and effortless… readers will delight in a closer look at his signature Southern California meets regal European interiors. I find myself truly impressed not just with his range (which is vast), but his master of mixing periods and styles. Jeffrey’s homes never look decorated or designed. They read as authentic expressions- unique expressions- of the homeowners’ lives and loves…Impressive to say the least. I have gone through the book several times with wide-eyed wonder and appreciation. You must add this to your design library.” -Life in a Venti Cup“With his casual yet refined style, Jeffrey’s design aesthetic is functional and beautiful all at the same time. Covering a wide variety of rooms and spaces he’s designed over his career,The Meaning of Homewill showcase the depth and diversity of Jeffrey’s projects.” -Interior Canvas“The Meaning of Homeshowcases the designer’s breezy, tailored look inspired by his Southern California outdoor lifestyle—a synthesis of a fresh informality infused with sophisticated English and European accents. The book features a series of beautifully photographed residences revealing Jeffrey Alan Marks’ skill at capturing each client’s personality, from a movie star’s London townhouse full of eccentric furnishings to a charming Nantucket cottage with nautical embellishments. Through collective imagery and intriguing collages, he shares his creative process and how he creates a sanctuary where all details are synchronized.”-Editor at Large“…creative, fun, beautiful, and (perhaps most important) relaxed and livable aesthetic. I could live in practically any of the spaces he has designed, and love every minute of it.” -Katedid Blog "Mr. Marks is not a predictable designer nor does he impose a signature look. I would describe him as interpretive in the sense that he translates the needs and tastes of his clients to shape the look of their homes.” -Attic Magazine “…laid-back luxury bolstered by some cost-effective decorating tips.” -Los Angeles Times“Jeffrey Alan Marks’Meaning of Homeis at the top of my list…filled with stunning images of recent projects and personal anecdotes on just exactly what it means to be home.”-La Dolce Vita “His timeless design style sings to me. It is classic, but fresh. Through the combination of traditional elements paired with unique edgy accessories he creates elegant masterpieces in his interiors.” -The Mustard Ceiling “The book strikes the perfect balance of top design and comfort…” -The Simply Luxurious Life"This book has some of the most beautiful photography of interiors that I have ever seen. Jeffrey penned the text himself, and it is well written. You hear his voice as we have come to know it, and he shares details. details, details."-The Visual Vamp
