Overview

"Whether you are married or single, young or old, and whether you work inside the home or in the marketplace, Carolyn McCulley and Nora Shank create a rich vision for fulfillment through an understanding of the compelling foundation for the biblical call of productivity. Far from the stone-throwing arguments that often occupy the discussion around women, work, and the home, Carolyn and Nora show how the redemptive message of the gospel allows the Bible's teaching on the role of women to coexist with ambition. It creates a fresh vision for the profit we all gain from encouraging female contribution in the home, society, and church"--P. 4 of cover.

Discover God's view of the successful woman Should a woman work? Can a woman be feminine, godly, and ambitious? Is work only for women who need the income? Is there any sanctified ground between the stay-at-home mom and the aspiring executive? Whether you are married or single, young or old, and whether you work inside the home or in the marketplace, Carolyn and Nora create a rich vision for fulfillment through an understanding of the compelling foundation for the biblical call of productivity. Far from the stone-throwing arguments that often occupy the discussion around women, work, and the home, Carolyn and Nora show how the redemptive message of the gospel allows the Bible's teaching on the role of women to coexist with ambition. It creates a fresh vision for the profit we all gain from encouraging female contribution in the home, society, and church. If you've ever wondered whether you're living the life that most glorifies God, The Measure of Success will help you answer that question.
Editorial Reviews

I loved this book! It is a topic that is very close to my heart and
The Measure of Success will help women greatly. I'm so grateful for its contribution.

Christine Caine

The primary responsibility to provide for the family rests on the shoulders of husbands, so issues surrounding women and work are seldom discussed.
The Measure of Success takes a helpful look at the question. It counters the popular notion that the location of our work and the money we receive for it is the definition and measure of our success. The Lord wants us to be good stewards of all the relationships and resources He's given us. Whether you work at home and/or in the marketplace,
The Measure of Success will challenge you to be a creative, fruitful, industrious woman who invests what you've been given for the glory of God.

Nora Shank was born in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., where she was raised with more than a big city idea of work. After several entrepreneurial candy and lemonade stands, she learned how to run a successful catering business before pursuing her love of food and wellness as registered dietitian. She now works as a personal health consultant and resides in Virginia. She is married to Travis and they have two children, Kate and Grant. Nora tries to live up to the Miles Standish proverb that those who don't work, don't eat--she tries to do both wholeheartedly.
