This Gospel of the Kingdom: Heaven's reign over the earth

Paperback |English |1514117347 | 9781514117347
Overview

The Kingdom of God is not the church, it is bigger than the church and includes God complete plan to bring prosperity and national transformation to all nations. God's kingdom is bigger than any local denomination, whether that denomination is Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Pentecostal, Baptist, Wesleyan, Nazarene, Church of God or any other denomination. For so long, some say too long, the church has functioned as a straightjacket limiting the expression of Christ to merely spiritual things and the life to come. Much of this has been the result of many self-proclaimed, modern-day "prophets" who have arisen to stir up a furor rivaled only by the impending apocalypse they predict. This doom-and-gloom prognostication is not only spread by a few fanatics, but millions of Christians, including some of the most recognized names in mainstream Christianity who are caught up in the latest "last days" frenzy. Seduced by the popular craze, they are driven not to action, but to radical inactivity, ineffectiveness, and lethargy while waiting for the easy-out "end". The result has been catastrophic as we see the church abandon culture, retreat into the four walls of its church. This book is about a theological paradigm shift calling the church back to the kind of engagement that validates, equips and commissions believers into their market place vocations in accordance with the cultural mandate of Genesis 1:28 "to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it" The answer to man's quest for purpose and ultimate self-fulfillment is not religion and cannot be found in the theory and practice of socialism, communism or even democracy, which have all failed to create the kind of world we are all searching for. It cannot be found in the realm of economics, medicine or science. Each of us has in us an inbuilt need for power, for control over our circumstances and the circumstances of life. We were all created not just to exist, but to live a fulfilled and significant life in the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is God's answer to your need for power and control, and His answer to the needs of a world lost in sin, immorality, corruption, abuse, and scandal and self- deception. That is why the Kingdom was at the heart of the message of Jesus. The kingdom is a paradox which may be hard to understand, but a mystery which has been revealed. The teaching of this book seeks to simplify and explain the doctrine of the kingdom, the message of the gospel of the kingdom and heaven's reign over planet earth through a people, God calls the church.

Ricardo Taylor is from the beautiful island of Barbados. He is married to Denise, his wife of twenty-one years and best friend. They have three children, two sons, Delandro and Daniel, and one daughter, Rickeda. Ricardo Taylor has a heart for nations and a burning desire to see entire nations transformed through the gospel. He believes that God has the answer to loneliness, poverty, corruption and other massive, mind-boggling problems plaguing societies but believes that God wants to use each of us in creating solutions so that we can truly become the reformers and revolutionaries of our societies. As well as being a local church pastor for over ten years, he is a UK-trained chartered accountant with a heart for the work place, the marketplace and the four-walled church. He wants to see the church "gathering" on Sunday, and "scattering" all over the city and nation during the week to advance the kingdom and impact society. He has an enduring passion to see the church break free of its four walls so that it can step into its true apostolic and prophetic destiny. He believes that the four-walled church will never impact society as Jesus intended as long as the church remains trapped in the devil's grip of religion and tradition. This is because the four walls of the church represent unseen barriers erected by church leaders that keep "the flock" inside instead of the saints carrying out their greater function beyond the church building. We don't just go to church. We are the church 24/7. He really believes that two of the biggest strongholds established in the church over the years have been the sacred/secular division and the clergy laity division. Both in his view have done untold damage to the mindset and ministry of the saints and have served quite well the devil's purpose of immobilizing the saints. This is now changing as the twenty-first century church that Jesus died for starts to take shape. According to him, now is the time for God's true apostles, prophets, teachers, pastors, and evangelists to arise to equip the saints to do the work of ministry and to advance the kingdom in every sphere of society (government, economy, family, media, education, celebration (arts entertainment & sports)).
