Kevin Scully
Kevin Scully is the author of a range of published and performed works.

He has written seven published non-fiction works, mostly on religious themes. His first novel, Harbour Glimpses, came out in 2017.

His second, The Rest is Silence, was published in 2019. Fiona Hook, in her review, said:
'This unusual and absorbing book has to be read slowly....
Columba himself is a deeply engaging narrator. There are hints of a dark secret, but one for which confession and prayer has allowed him to forgive himself...
His secret is revealed in the end, but it’s one of those books in which the journey is the destination, a gentle and thought-provoking account of a well-lived life finely imagined.'

Two of his radio dramas have been broadcast and ten plays have been seen on the stage.

A former journalist, with experience in newspapers, television and radio, he started writing at an early age.

His first short stories and poetry were published when he was in junior school. His adult writing takes in a range of forms: non-fiction, criticism, meditations and drama. He also writes fiction.

Three Angry Men, is a spiritual memoir of his father, Ken, who was also known by his pen-name John Dawes. The writing of this followed a sabbatical in Australia looking over Ken's papers, which are housed in the Australian Catholic University's Strathfield campus.

Kevin also writes for a number of journals and newspapers.

He was born in Australia, where he also trained as an actor at NIDA, working professionally on the stage, film, televison and radio for ten years.

He moved to Britain in 1988 where his life took something of an unexpected turn. He trained for the priesthood in the Church of England at Oxford and was ordained in St Paul's Cathedral in 1993.

He is currently the Rector of St Matthew's, Bethnal Green in the East End of London.
